Bethenny Frankel Responds to New Puerto Rico Report, Asks Fans for Help: "I Personally Saw" the Horror of Hurricane Maria

Bethenny Frankel's B Strong Disaster Relief org is on the ground delivering straight to Puerto Rico's people.

Bethenny Frankel is not at all stunned by the vast discrepancy between the government's official death toll count in Puerto Rico of 64 people after Hurricane Maria, versus a newly published Harvard study that puts it at closer to 4,645 people.

"I personally saw 100 people that were dying," The Real Housewives of New York City humanitarian told Craig Melvin in a candid interview on MSNBC.

Bethenny was one of the first to provide relief efforts to Puerto Rico (as well as U.S. Virgin Islands and other neighboring territories) on a massive scale, and with a partner in Miami, has continued to coordinate private planes to move large scale donations of supplies to the islands — "anything that a human might need," she explained, from cash to water to tampons.

"It's a skill set, and we have it down," she said, and asked her fans to consider contributing to her B Strong Disaster Relief efforts, which bring 100 percent of donations directly to the people who need it.

"If all of my fans gave just $5, we would be a lot further than we are now," she said, sharing that she has heard that some donations to other charities have not made it to the victims of the hurricane. And with a new hurricane season on the way, she wants to step up preventive efforts to minimize further damage from natural disasters.
